A deeper look into why plane ticket prices are so affordable

Airlines have always priced tickets based on historical data. But with the extreme lack in demand for travel, historical data is no longer relevant. So airlines are pricing flights with very little variance between traditional high and low demand periods.

Flights during high demand periods that were once cost prohibitive for a family of four are now more affordable (assuming you feel safe traveling).

What does this mean for air travelers? Travelers will benefit from low prices for some time to come as airlines learn to readjust their pricing strategies.
