Home sales are at their peak during the spring and summer and have a tendency to slow down in the fall. But not this year! If you want to sell, the fall market might be the perfect time!
Traditionally, the demand for buying new homes begins to wane come fall but not this year. With a selling season that got a late start combined with low interest rates, the demand for home buying is maintaining strength. When the virus hit in early spring, the real estate market came to a screeching halt as evident by the blue line in the chart. But quickly experienced a sharp V recovery.
We saw record breaking sales in June and July with strong year over year growth. But the continued demand of buyers is dependent on one main factor…. those willing to sell! Inventory of homes for sale continues to be very low and without more homes on the market, sales will again slow down.
If you have been contemplating a move and delayed listing your home in the spring due to the uncertain times, now is still an ideal time to list your home and receive top dollar. With demand at such a high level, many homes are experiencing bidding wars and going under contract at a record pace.
Have you considered selling your home based on high demand in the current fall market?
