When the pandemic began in March, little was known about the virus or primary modes of transmission. So many of us wiped down everything that we came into contact with or brought into our homes. Groceries. Take out food. Mail. Packages. But the medical community has since learned that the primary mode of transmission is airborne droplets from an infected person.
Heading into cooler months, we also need to be concerned about the flu in addition to an increase in COVID cases. Here are the two things that doctors agree you should sanitize daily:
Cell Phones – The gatherist originally posted about this on August 26 and the information still holds true. Still not cleaning your phone? Then get some 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes or Clorox Disinfectant wipes, which is recommended on Apple’s website. Just don’t use bleach. Wipe down and sanitize multiple times a day.
Face masks – If you use disposable masks, discard after one use. If you use cloth masks, wash daily. When taking off your mask do so from the loop taking care not to touch the front. Place into something like a Ziploc bag and not a purse where it can contaminate other items. It can be laundered and dried with other items.
Are you wiping your phone and washing your mask on a daily basis?
