Delta just announced that they will permanently eliminate change fees for all international flights for all seats except Basic Economy. This aligns with their announcement to permanently eliminate change fees for domestic flights, also not applicable to Basic Economy.
They joined the ranks of American Airlines, who made similar decisions. United Airlines was the first to announce eliminating the change fee for all their domestic flights but have yet to make an announcement for international flights.
It’s important to note that travelers are still responsible for the difference in the cost of the ticket. And that change charges still apply to those who booked Basic Economy.
Does this fee elimination make you more willing to purchase a plane ticket in advance?
